Neighborhood Ontario Roofer

City Wide Roofing & Siding is proud to have a location right here in Ontario. For more than 50 years our family-owned team has cared for homes across the area, and today we serve homeowners in Ontario, Ontario Center, Union Hill, Fruitland, and along the Lake Road shoreline from Bear Creek Harbor west to the Webster line.

Ontario’s homes cover a lot of ground. There are 19th-century farmhouses and cobblestone-era homes along Ridge Road, mid-century ranches and capes in the hamlets, and newer subdivisions built for families commuting on Route 104. Each one ages differently. Older farmhouses often have multiple shingle layers over plank decking, and newer builds are reaching the age where original builder-grade shingles start to wear out.

What they share is exposure. Ontario sits on open orchard and farm country along the south shore of the lake, with few trees or buildings to break the wind. Roofs here take direct northwest gusts, driven rain, and heavy lake-effect snow. We build for that with high-wind-rated shingles and proper fastening, ice and water protection at the eaves and valleys, and ventilation that helps prevent ice dams.

Roofing Permits in the Town of Ontario: We Plan Ahead for You

The Town of Ontario requires a building permit for roofing work, and the Building Department asks for a minimum of 15 working days to process an application. That lead time is easy to overlook, so we build it into your project schedule from day one.

We file your application as soon as you approve the estimate, including the project details and the workers’ compensation certificate the Town requires, so your permit is in hand by your install date. We also schedule the final inspection, so your project closes out with the Town’s certificate on file.

Ontario Roofing FAQs

Common questions from Ontario homeowners.

Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Ontario, NY?

Yes. The Town of Ontario issues building permits for roofs and needs at least 15 working days to process an application. We take care of the paperwork and file right away, so it never holds up your project.

Can you help with storm damage and insurance claims in Ontario?

Yes. Wind and hail off the lake are a fact of life here. After a storm we’ll inspect your roof, document the damage with photos, and help you work through the claim with your insurance company. Visit our storm damage & insurance claims page or call (585) 265-4881.

How does the open, lakeside location in Ontario affect my roof?

With little to block the wind off Lake Ontario, roofs here see more shingle blow-offs, wind-driven rain at flashing and ridge vents, and ice dams after lake-effect storms. Wind-rated shingles, careful fastening, and proper ice and water shield make the biggest difference.

How long does it take from estimate to installation?

Because the Town needs at least 15 working days to process a permit, most Ontario roof replacements are installed a few weeks after you approve the estimate. We use that time to order your materials and schedule your crew. If you have an active leak, we’ll make a temporary repair right away so your home stays dry in the meantime.

Do you serve the rest of Wayne County?

Yes. From Ontario we regularly work in Walworth, Williamson, and neighboring Wayne County communities. Give us a call at (585) 265-4881 and we’ll happily confirm we serve your area.
